Randomized Checkerboard Screen

A screen system made of panels arranged in a staggered checkerboard configuration. The panels are angled following a randomized logic, the checkerboard pattern is ‘disturbed’ in a few places to create a varied exterior. The panels create effective passive shading.

Setup instructions:

Download the .GH Framework script.
Open Rhino, launch Grasshopper, and open the script.
Assign the name GH_Facet Facade to the surface or polysurface you want to apply the facade to. (Under Properties: Object > Name)
