Facet is a plug-in for Rhino 8 on Windows. You install it through Rhino’s Package Manager.
Requirements: Rhino 8 for Windows
1. Install from the Package Manager
Follow the Installation instructions.
After the restart, the Facet toolbar appears. If you don’t see it, type “Facet” into the Rhino command bar: this opens Facet and brings the toolbar back.
2. Activate
Open the gallery from the toolbar, or type FacetGallery. What you do next depends on your situation:
| Your situation | What to do |
| Free Trial | Start a free trial. Enter your email, then the 6-digit code we send you. The trial runs for 14 days with everything included, and no card needed. |
| You bought a License | Choose Enter a license key and paste the key from your office’s licence email. Everyone in the office uses the same key. |
| Free Trial → License | Open Facet Settings → License → Enter Different Key and paste the licence key. Your work isn’t affected. |
Updating Facet
Facet updates automatically through the Package Manager.
Uninstalling Facet
Open PackageManager, find Facet under Installed, and click Uninstall.
Troubleshooting
- The toolbar is missing. Type Facet in the Rhino command bar, or use Facet Settings → Restore Toolbar.
- “Could not reach the license server”. Your network may be blocking Facet. Ask IT to allow facet3d.com and api.keygen.sh. If you’re briefly offline, Facet keeps working for a limited period.
